Funding Sources

Funding used to pay for your education can come from a number of sources.  Please consider the following to ensure that funding is applied to your student account in a timely manner:  

 

  • Financial Aid
  • Make sure all requirements have been satisfied
  • If your financial aid does not pay your balance in full, you are responsible for paying the remainder by the fee payment deadline
  • If your financial aid is not disbursed by the fee payment deadline, you are responsible for paying your account balance by the fee payment deadline
  • Third Party Sponsors
  • Submit all necessary paperwork to Student Business Services at least 30 days before the fee payment deadline
  • Keep in mind that campus-based fees and/or health insurance fees may not be covered and must be paid by the fee payment deadline. Campus-based fees include: Association, Recreation, Student Life, Transportation, Campus Activities Board, Early Childhood Education Center and Undergraduate Competitive Athletic fees
  • Veteran Benefits
  • Submit all necessary paperwork to the UC Merced Veterans Service Office in a timely manner
  • Keep in mind that campus-based fees may not be covered by your benefits and must be paid by the fee payment deadline
  • Graduate Students with Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher Appointments
  • You are responsible for paying all campus-based fees by the fee payment deadline. Campus-based fees include: Association, Health Services. Recreation, Student Life, and Transportation 
  • 529 College Savings Plan and Other College Savings Plans
  • Submit all necessary paperwork to your plan administrator at least 30 days before the fee payment deadline
  • Request a distribution from the college savings plan administrator
  • Request the funds to be sent directly to UC Merced and make check payable to UC Regents.  Note the student name and student ID number on the check.
